DONOVAN “DON” FAUST, 77, a resident of Apple Valley for the past 27 years, died on November 4, 2019 from cancer. Donovan was born in February, 1942, in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania. His parents, Donovan and Helen, left Pennsylvania and moved to Phoenix, Arizona for work. They finally settled in Colton, California where Don attended elementary and high school. He married Sharon, his wife of 52 years, in November of 1967. Don has 4 children, Jeff, Steve, Sara and Donovan. He has 7 grandchildren: Jeffrey, Justin & fiancé Phuong, Mina, Joshua, Cody, Aspen and Alder. He worked at several jobs in his early career and was hired as a tree trimmer by the County of San Bernardino. He retired as Tree Crew Supervisor after 20 years of service. Donovan had several passions in his life and enjoyed each of them to the fullest. His first passion was racing. He began racing go-karts in the early fifties. He and his father raced at and helped build Adams Motorsports Track in Riverside California, which still operates today. He raced at Daytona Beach Raceway, Riverside Raceway, Perris Raceway, and Willow Springs Raceway with his last race at Sears Point Grand Nationals in 1988. His second passion was bowling. He began bowling in 1992 in Apple Valley. He loved every aspect of the game. He read all he could about bowling and he taught himself to clean and drill bowling balls. He was also an excellent cook. He will be missed, but will live on in the hearts of his family.
