It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George K. McKiernan on 8/18/21. George was born in Germany in 1948 to Francis and Hildegard McKiernan. He was raised in Germany until he was 10 years old, eventually he came to America speaking only German. He learned to speak English, graduated High School, received an Associate Degree in College. He got a Job working for Stater Bros. Markets and never looked back. He worked his entire career for Stater Bros. Markets, retiring as a Director of Produce and Floral. George and Linda McKiernan retired to Sparks Nevada. He loved many types of sports, camping, fishing and touring the country in an RV with his Wife Linda. George belonged to many organizations. He was a 32 degree Life Member of A & A Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, SJ, USA; a Life Member of Fellowship Lodge #678 of Yucaipa; a Life Member of Victorville Masonic Lodge #634; a Life Member of Free & Accepted Masons of Nevada-Wadsworth Lodge #25; Member of Cryptic Masons of California; Member of Royal Arch Masons of California; Member of St Bernard Commandery #23 of Knights Templar; Life Member of AL Malaikah Shrine; Member of Kerak Shrine in NV; Lifetime Member of Eastern Star of Upland Calif. #346; Member of Reno Elks Lodge #597. George believed in helping people and was very active in these groups. George is survived by his Wife Linda McKiernan; Children – Dennis McKiernan, Lisa McKiernan, David(Katrina) McKiernan, Christopher(Lisa) McKiernan. Stepchildren Jeff Birchfield and Lisa Duffey. Siblings Cindy(Dave) Cowan and Linda(William) Ludlow; Grandchildren Timmy, Ashlee, Mason, Emily, Zachary and Ava. Funeral Services will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary in Apple Valley, California on 9/14/21 at 2pm. Please join us in saying Goodbye to a Great Man.
