    Samira Karin Butros

    August 7, 1963 - February 3, 2021

Samira “Sami” Karin Butros, 57, beloved sister, passed away February 3, 2021, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Apple Valley, California, due to complications related to diabetes. Sami was well-known in the High Desert as the owner-operator of Travel With Us in Apple Valley. As one of the last independent travel agents in the High Desert, Sami was renowned for her professional and personalized service in all areas of travel, and counted her clients as part of an extended family. With over 30 years of travel experience both in California and in the Kingdom of Jordan, Sami’s expertisein finding just the right vacation spot for her clients, and being with them every step of the way, made her an invaluable asset to the community.Sami’s involvement with the Victor Valley Knitting Guild, where she created baby blankets and hats (Newborns in Need), as well as lap blankets for veterans, enabled her to help a wider population. Her dedication and generosity to this organization resulted in those in need receiving something made from the heart. “Generosity” is a word familiar to those who knew Sami. She gave of herself to friends and family freely, with compassion and understanding.Sami is survived by sister Linda Butros of Pleasant Hill, California; brother and sister-in-law Michael and Tracy Butros of Apple Valley, California; and sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew Nancy, John, Callie and Jack McCaffery of Bakersfield, California. The family extends their deepest thanks to the staff at the ICU at St. Mary’s for their compassion and care of Sami during the three weeks of her hospitalization. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Victor Valley Knitting Guild, P.O. Box 2242, Apple Valley, CA 92307.
